This Great Grandmother's Shocking Obituary Went Viral

A North Carolina newspaper ran a mean-spirited obituary last month about Cornelia June Rogers Miller, an 82-year-old great grandmother. The obituary claimed that Miller had an allegedly complicated past and her son is claiming these accusations are not true. The family is working hard to track down the writer responsible for stating that Miller had a lifelong drug addiction and that her "presence will not be missed by many." June Miller passed away in February, and the obituary in question was published four months after her death.

"The whole thing is just sad," June's son, Robert Miller, told WTVC. "It's really sad that they don't have anything better to do."

A portion of the obituary reads:

"Drugs were a major love in her life as June had no hobbies, made no contribution to society and rarely shared a kind word or deed in her life. Please let June Miller's life be a cautionary tale. Addiction and hatred are no es bueno for the living. We speak for the majority of her family when we say her presence will not be missed by many, very few tears will be shed, and there will be no lamenting over her passing."

We hope they can track down the writer of this horribly false obituary.
