It's been almost a year since Universal announced their long-awaited adaptation of the musical Wicked, set to hit the big screen in December 2019! Of course, everyone is asking the same question: Who will portray the show's iconic main characters, Elphaba and Glinda, originally played by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth?
The obvious choice for Elphaba was Idina, but apparently she's been told that her and Kristin Chenoweth are "too old" to resume their former roles. Don't worry, there may be a new Wicked Witch of the West in town! According to The Sun, ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is in talks with Universal to take the role.
Scherzinger is no stranger to musicals as she earned an Olivier nominated for her role as Grizabella in Cats in 2015 and appeared in Disney's Moana last year. Do you think Nicole will make a good Elphaba?!
