Boy With Skin Disorder Makes Friends With Spotted Dog

A boy from Arkansas took a special trip to Oregon to meet a dog who has the same rare skin disorder as him. Eight year old Carter Blanchard and Rowdy the dog both have vitiligo, a disease that causes the loss of skin color in blotches. Carter and Rowdy have communicated online via the dog's owner for about a year when they decided the two friends should meet in person. Carter's mom, Stephanie Adock, said that Rowdy has helped Carter learn to love his skin!

Adcock adds, "Really it was life changing for him, it changed his childhood for the better, and it was a gift I couldn't give him."

Rowdy is a 14 year old dog, so Carter was especially happy that he got to meet him. Unfortunately, Rowdy suffered a seizure this Sunday and generous people have shown support through fundraising for medical attention. Check out the video below to see the new best friends!
